Be a BFB (Best Flying Buddy)!!
Now’s the time we all start climbing out of our winter shells and cleaning the moss off our headsets but nothing is worse for maintaining currency and motivation then planning a flight time only to find the weather decided not to cooperate. It’s also true that having another like-minded pilot to share a flight with OR to share time with you at the airport when weather keeps you down is one of the best cures for a cancelled flight. There is ALWAYS something you can do to keep your “PIC” state of mind, but it’s much more fun to do it with another pilot!
With that in mind, we’ve come up with some fun springtime activities for you and a buddy that can be done rain or shine!
Beginning April 1 and continuing thru June 30th TakeWING pilots and student pilots are encouraged to climb out of their winter shells, clean the moss off your headsets and have a little fun and camaraderie with each other.
Participation is completely voluntary! We have however made your buddy assignments which have been emailed to each of you. It’s up to you to follow up with each other. Make a date for the airport and rain or shine you’ll be better for it.
If you do fly together, remember there is only ONE PIC, so if you aren’t flight current, or if you’re a student pilot you can learn something by handling the radios in the right seat or by back-seating to observe (depending on the aircraft).
Not that you need a reward but when you complete three or more activities with a buddy we’ll give each of you two tickets to the movies!
Capture The Airport Game 2017 Coming Soon!
Each year we challenge our pilots to get UP and OUT. TakeWING’s game called “Capture the Airport” motivates our pilots to go far and wide and creates proficiency challenges for any level of pilot certificate.
Prizes are awarded for bragging rights and SWAG to those who capturing (landing and taking pictures) of airports near and far as well to those who practice maneuvers in the the air or by flying the simulator!
Take a step back in time to view a few of our previous years!
