Get to Know us at the TakeWING Aviation Club

Meet our flight instructors, staff, and get to know us at the TakeWING Aviation Club. We welcome new and returning pilots—We would like to get to know you too.

Please visit us. We are located just a few miles south of Eugene, Oregon at Creswell “Hobby Field” Airport (77S)

Get to know us: Dorothy Schick

Dorothy Schick: CFI, Rp-sUAS

TakeWING was established in 1994 by Dorothy Schick. Dorothy began learning to “fly” by jumping off a roof-top with an umbrella at the young age of six (thank you Mary Poppins). Moving on to jumping out of airplanes in high school and then after graduating from the University of Oregon, took a more conservative leap and became a private pilot. From that point on she says, “every day spent as an aviator increases my passion for life and my yearning to both learn and to share what aviation has to offer.”

Dorothy has given over 4000 hours of flight instruction, and is an FAA FASTeam representative. When not instructing, preparing WINGS seminars, writing newsletters, or yapping about flying, she volunteers at the Green Hill Humane Society’s 1St Avenue Shelter.

Daniel Barnes: CFII

Daniel is a CFII and also holds Commercial Multi Engine Certificate. After serving in the Marine Corps in the Direct Air Support Center, Daniel graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and returned home to San Diego to flight instruct. Daniel and his wife decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Eugene in 2015 and have enjoyed what Oregon has all to offer. He has extensive experience with the Cessna 162 and Cessna 172, as well as navigating through complex airspace. He has a strong passion for aviation and enjoys helping others reach their goals.

In addition to flying, Daniel enjoys spending time at the ice rink playing hockey and spending time with his wife and newly adopted dog Leia.

Daniel instructs part time at TakeWING, including private, instrument, commercial instruction as well as assisting in helping pilots become current and increase their personal minimums.

Jeremy Morgan 2

Jeremy Morgan, CFI

Jeremy has weaved his life from up North in Canada to Eugene. He put his heart and soul into the long journey from private pilot to flight instructor, and it shows in his commitment to his student’s success. As soon as you meet Jeremy he will put immediately at ease—he understands learning to fly is a big journey and will stick with you to the end.

If Jeremy had a superpower, it would be . . . Flying!

When not flying, you can find him playing hockey, fishing, hunting, training his dogs, and enjoying life with his wife.

Eric flying 421

Eric Guevara: ATP, CFII, MEI, A&P, Rp-sUAS

To say that Eric Guevara is an over achiever would be an understatement. Eric grew up in Cottage Grove, married his high school sweet-heart and then traveled the world as a Marine, moving up the ranks to Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief on CH53 helicopters before returning home to Oregon (now with two lovely daughters).

Eric is a Multi-Engine and Instrument instructor, member of the FAA’ FASTeam and just plain NICE GUY . . .oh yeah, and he’s also a certificated Airframe and Power plant mechanic (A&P) . . . did we say over achiever?

Eric holds a full-time job as a First Officer with SkyWest Airlines and works as a consultant to TakeWING.
